Sunshine Movers is a licensed and insured moving company based in Chicago and authorised to move households to all 50 states. That is not a slogan — it is a set of specific credentials you are entitled to check before you let anyone carry your belongings down a flight of stairs.

Interstate moving in particular is regulated for a reason: your goods leave the state, and if something goes wrong you need a carrier with real registration behind it. Moving is an easy industry to enter badly, which is why the paperwork matters. We are happy to put ours in front of you before you book.

How It Works?!

Anyone can claim to be insured. These are the things worth actually verifying, of us or of anybody else you are considering.

  • Illinois Commerce Commission authority for intrastate household moves
  • USDOT registration for interstate moves to all 50 states
  • Cargo and general liability coverage, certificates available on request
  • Workers compensation cover for every crew member on your property
  • Written estimates and a written bill of lading on every job

If a mover cannot produce these, that is your answer. If they can, ask for the certificate in writing rather than a verbal assurance.

Proper licensing, cargo cover and workers compensation exist to move that risk off you. Verifying it takes five minutes and is the single most useful thing you can do before booking any mover.

Yes. Ask and we will send it. If your building needs a Certificate of Insurance naming them specifically, we will issue that directly to management, usually the same day.
Standard released-value protection under federal rules is calculated by weight, which is modest. Full-value protection is available at extra cost, and we will explain both plainly so you can choose knowingly.
A written estimate before the job and a bill of lading on the day. Never accept a household move on a verbal quote alone.
